Ingredients

Crust:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups flour

Filling:

  • 1/2 cup pecans or walnuts finely chopped
  • 1 large egg well beaten
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup I prefer Robust grade
  • 1 Tablespoon butter melted
  • pinch salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Crust: Cut ingredients together until a ball of dough forms. Make into balls the size of walnuts and press into cupcake tins to form a crust.
    Filling: Combine filling ingredients and fill each cup 1/3 full. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 250° and bake 10 minutes longer. Let cool and remove from tin.
