These simple bars are so much healthier than many from the store. Very easy to make. Steam 1 c. dates in a little water, to make removing pits easy. Toast 1 1/2 c. rolled oats in 275 degree oven for 20 minutes. Heat 1/4 c. maple syrup with 1/4 cup peanut butter. Stir all ingredients together with 1 c. chopped nuts – I like walnuts or almonds. Press onto a waxed paper lined pan. Cover. Chill, and cut into bars. I had some sesame and sunflower seeds on hand, so I added those. These keep well in an airtight container, or in the freezer. I times the recipe by 8 for our hungry family!
