Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease an 8-inch baking pan.For the crust: mix the ground nuts, flour, softened butter, 1/3 c. maple sugar and salt to combine. Press evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Set aside to cool while you prepare the filling.For the filling: Combine the 2/3 maple sugar, egg, butter, maple syrup, and heavy cream in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower heat and simmer, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in chopped nuts and vanilla. Pour over crust. Bake 20 minutes.
